The company
TEPEDE is privately owned and managed by its owners, Piet Kleibergen and Dick Nijenhuis, who each possess equal shares in the company. TEPEDE was created in 1990 from a Dutch company specializing in the marketing of machines and media for the diazo sector. From 1991 to 1998, the company’s business at its factory in Leuven was the coating of papers destined for use in electrostatic printers. The distribution of the media was developed through the establishment of independent companies in different European countries. Branches were opened in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Great Britain and Croatia. On the basis of the experience gained in the distribution of diazo systems since the early sixties and analogue copying systems during the eighties, the company progressed in the nineties to inkjet technologies and all other aspects of large-format printing and processing. The paper-conversion plants were continuously expanded as inkjet technologies for large-format printers developed. Reputed companies today task TEPEDE with the conversion of their jumbo rolls. A range of media has also been created that is marketed with the TEPEDE brand and also as white-label brands through partners in Europe and beyond. More than 110,000 rolls of inkjet paper are produced in this way each month for customers located in more than 40 countries worldwide. |
Besides
the media business, TEPEDE also focuses on the sale of complete systems,
i.e. hardware and software. So it was therefore natural that we should
take over the Dutch and Belgian distribution companies previously owned
by Xerox Engineering Systems when they came on to the market in 1999.
In May 2003, the German company, XES GmbH, was also acquired. Since then,
it has been operating under the name of TEPEDE GmbH. Today, TEPEDE employs
250 people and generates annual sales of approximately 45 million euros.
